Thoughts on Simon Pegg and Star Wars

Jun 27, 11 Thoughts on Simon Pegg and Star Wars

Is anyone else here obsessed with Simon Pegg? I’ve had a movie-star crush on him ever since first seeing him in Shaun of the Dead, and also enjoyed him in Hot Fuzz, Run, Fatboy, Run, and Star Trek. I just can’t get enough of British humor, and he has it in spades. So I was thrilled to findĀ this interview with him on the Slate website.

I particularly liked the part where he talked about his anger over the Star Wars prequels, because I also feel that the creation of those movies destroyed a little part of me. And I agree that the reason they stank so badly was because George Lucas got to do whatever he wanted since he’d made such a big name for himself by that point. (Believe me, I know what I’m talking about – I wrote a paper about Star Wars in college, so there). Back in the day, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, and Alec Guinness (as well as plenty of others in the cast and crew, I’m sure) had some sort of say in how they were going to go about their jobs, and it really shows.

Anyway, back to Simon Pegg. The interview is awesome, so check it out if you get a chance. Also, Simon is on Twitter, and there’s no better way to keep him a little closer to your heart than by following his 140 character utterings.
